Inside Out Jesus

You have heard it said…”old bible

Don’t kill people.
Don’t cheat on your wife or step out on your husband.
Don’t make a vow unless you’re prepared to fulfill it totally down to the last jot and tittle.

“But, I say to you…

If you have hate in your heart towards another human it’s murder.
Because murder always begins with hate.

If you look at a woman or a man and wonder what could be under the sheets of darkness, you’ve already stepped out.

And it’s better not to make a vow or an oath at all.
Just let your yes be yes and your no be no.

“You have heard it said…”

It is legal to get an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.
Love your neighbor, your friend, the people you know.

“But I say to you…”

Instead of extracting an eyeball or a tooth,
give another cheek, another shirt, another mile.
Do the hardest thing. Love an enemy.

Oh, these kingdom impossibilities.
But with God all things are possible.
It is possible to live from the inside out.

“So loving my enemies does not apparently mean thinking them nice either. That is an enormous relief.”- C. S. Lewis
